Okay but I’d argue there are monsters for which buzzsawing occurs in a single round so even by that standard, it still fails. Whatever. It’s not my cup of tea.
That is fine, as long as that buzzsawijg taps some resources. Monsters are a resource attrition speed-up, that's what CR is designed to facilitate. Not your cup of tea, fair, but that's what the system is built to do.

Okay is this back to that 5 to 7 encounters per day stuff? Because I didn’t find that to be accurate either.

I mean, I am not sure how it can be "accurate" or "inaccurate" but yeah that is how 5E is balanced: 12-24 Combat Rounds spread between 6-8 Encounters between Long Rests. Anything less isn't going to push the players much at all
