• NOW LIVE! Into the Woods--new character species, eerie monsters, and haunting villains to populate the woodlands of your D&D games.

D&D (2024) Has the new PHB reveals made you want to stick to an older edition of D&D, or to move onto a 5e-adjacent RPG?

I am likely going to do hybrid 5e/5.5 and went from all 5e to a mix to almost surely a mix.

I don’t like what they have done with species or ASI so much. And to that end, really was not interested in 5e past Tasha’s (nomordy’s guide to multiverse).

But the allure of a well organized dmg is there and I have liked the extant monster previews thus far.

Lack of half-orc and the new orc treatment are turn offs. Minor quibbles maybe but they enter in.

Basically I cannot say for sure how I will roll until I can hold the books and look through them!

So…slightly less…the phb so far not to my taste.

For all of you who have read and watched the new PHB reveals and felt that the 2024 D&D isn't for you, has the reveals made you want to stick to an older edition of D&D (which now includes 5e) or to move onto a 5e-adjacent RPG?

I'll be sticking with 5e until my group finally finishes up our current adventure, whenever that might be. 😋 After that, who knows?
I'm sticking with Level Up or an OSR game if I can find players. I'm done buying anything WotC's selling.

It's fully convinced me that WOTC products don't hit the mark for me.

I will probably still 'dabble' in 5E, but the vast majority of games I'll be running for my two groups will not be D&D. I'll be running Savage Worlds, Call of Cthulhu, Free League; I'm also interested in seeing what the D6 2nd Edition is all about.

I'll definitely be interested in an actual, honest-to-goodness 6th Edition. I've no interest in Errata-Editions or Half-Measures.

It’s errata editions from here on out I’m afraid.
