D&D (2024) D&D Direct Will Talk About Project Sigil & Future of D&D on Aug 27th

D&D Direct is an official live-streamed event which will take place on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 9 am PDT (5pm BST).

The event will talk about the future of Dungeons & Dragons, and the Project Sigil 3D virtual tabletop.

You can sign up for the Project Sigil closed beta, which kicks off this fall, to be one of the lucky players who will preview the functionality and provide feedback to help improve D&D's next virtual experience.

Yep, we're probably getting at least a rough road map for 2025, and probably some idea of some post-MM products.

Could also get announcenents of new novels and MtG D&D crossover products.

I don't they will do more setting slip cases, alot of folks did not like them for Planescape and Spelljammer, especially the price bump and lack of content.

They did say there was a D&D/MtG launch, certainly for the new Secret Lairs...but it wouldn't surprise me if a new Magic-themed D&D product was announced.

There was some fan controversy, but...they sold well. Planescape actually was received well as a product, in addition.

We'll find out the true reception based on of they go back to that format or not, I suppose, but I am not counting it out or in yet.

I would love-love-LOVE if they continued the Fizban/Bigby Monster Type book line, with Undead or Fey or whatnot: don't think it is likely the same calander year as the MM, but hey, who knows?

Bloomburrow would be so perfect for a crossover.

Kyle Brinks was hesitant about Dark Sun, and I don't see it approaching fast...but I don't think it is dead yet. It now carries the Sepelljammer banned of CONFIRMED I feel.

Honestly, I don't think the online fabdom has a very good perception of actual reception of books: a couple hundred people talking about aproducts that sold over 100,000 copies is not necessarily representative.
