And actually, now that I think about it, the Dragon anthology could be a good kick off project for Sigil (if it's ready by next summer) giving 10 Dragon minis and a variety of pre made dungeons.
do we know if these are new adventures or updates of older ones like Saltmarsh was? Am thinking new

Yup.

  • Starter set is a redo of Keep on the Borderlands, looks to be headed by Justice who did Quests from the Infinite Staircase
  • "Dragon Amthology", 10 new small Adventures focused on Dragons (presumably one of each major type)
  • DM's Guide to Faerun (namedrops Dalelands, Calishman, Baldur's Gate, Moonshine Isles, Icewind Dale)
  • Players Guide to Faerun: new subclasses, new Feats, new Backgrounds, new Spells

Dragons… in dungeons!

I'm interested in what I saw.

Must admit, a tiny bit disappointed that they are not going to try a new, off the beaten path, setting

Yeah, me too. We're getting new Forgotten Realms books and an updated version of the Keep on the Borderlands. That's fine and all, I mean, I'm as nostalgic as the next guy, but MAN it seems like they play it safe over there at Wizards.

They've done a handful of new things (like Radiant Citadel, Wild Beyond the Witchlight), but there's just so much recycling of old material. I'd love to see them do more new stuff.

I know there's a lot of appeal in nostalgia -- I have all the Goodman Games' TSR OAR books -- but constantly recycling the same content from the late 1970s and early 1980s feels a little unambitious. I hope we see a lot more new stuff.

There's place for revamps -- adventure anthologies using Dragon/Dungeon content is a great example -- but the state of the art in adventure design (and layout) is so much better nowadays (especially outside WotC), and I'd love to see WotC get a bit further out of their comfort zone.

Agreed.
