I think the two hardest things are when-

Yeah, those are difficult. This is someone I usually find to be pretty reasonable, writing pretty reasonably, starting from bad presumptions. (I'm trying not to be clear which post or thread, here.) It's not necessarily hard to reconcile, it just leaves me in a position where I can't say anything to them.

That's one of those things, like a floppy disk icon for saving things, that people will eventually start going, "WUT?" when you say.

Well, I think the key is that if you just write so much, people will always find things to both agree with and disagree with!
