D&D (2024) Kobold Press posts 2024 DMG Hit Piece

to me the training wheels are to start with a small region rather than with a loosely described continent, and then gradually expand from there as the campaign progresses (and in directions dictated by the campaign)

I can hold a very loose continent in my mind if needed. I do not yet need to know who the ruler and gods of a place are the characters will probably never visit
That's what the section does, though? It starts out with detailing the one city along with hub locations and NPCs to tie into all the PHB Baclgrounds, then moves on to the region a few hexes around Greyhawk with a ton of hooks, including tying into the sample Advebtures in Chapter 4. Them it moves on to the rest of the continent and showing what different sort of Adventures and Campaigns are available.

In this very thread there's a screenshot of her saying that the tone was change significantly enough she asked for her name to be removed. When the article was first shared Celeste was listed as the author. That is no longer true.
So somewhere in this 33 page thread there is a screenshot? I'm sure that's true, but that's less than helpful. Thanks anyway.

yes, my point was more that I do not need a high level description of an entire continent to start a campaign, and I do not need it in a tutorial of how to build the setting for one either. If I know how to sketch out one region, the activity for the next one will not be all that different.

Depending on the campaign you might want that (DL, spanning most of Ansalon, so you need some high level idea of what is where from the start), you gradually expand along with the campaign, or you can ignore 90+% of the continent (Shattered Obelisk).

To be fair, one of the outlined 1-20 Campaign arcs (they provide three for continent spanning shenanigans) is basically DL with the serial numbers filed off.

Kobolds, having apologized for their momentary lapse in judgement, has faded from this conversation. We now return you to our regularly scheduled WotC bashing.

Was there an open apology to the creative that took a bunch of hate when she shouldnt have, and did the editor own it?
