I’d say it’s off to an intriguing start. I was initially thinking along parallels with Star Trek Prodigy, but it seems aimed at older kids given the level of Star Warsian violence and menace. I enjoyed the first two episodes.

It feels like a combination of The Goonies, Treasure Planet, Stranger Things, a few other movies, and Star Wars, and it is great so far. Also, their homeworld, At Attan, is giving off some major suspicious vibes or something being very off or strange there. Some people on the Reddit discussion think maybe it was sealed off when the High Republic collapsed, as there are so many references that make it not feel like it has only been sealed off since the rise of the Empire.

Yeah, there’s definitely something sus about At Attan and the Great Work and all that. Could still be a secret First Order world but I’m not sure. The myth and the pristine ancient credits etc make me think it might be something else (an old High Republic world does make some sense … especially since they’ve been working High Republic stuff into other SW media, like Jedi Survivor).

“SM-33” was a nice little Easter egg!

Liking it so far!

EDIT: The pirate captain with the mask at the beginning was Jude Law’s character, right?

Also, apparently there are references to “Great Works” in a High Republic novel, so maybe At Attan is an old High Republic world!

EDIT again: Just rewatched the school scene and Undersecretary Fara refers to the Republic, not the New Republic.

I’m also curious if what the droid teacher is saying just prior is meant to be a clue. The droid is going on about liquidity and “the fungibility of multiple currencies” … could this be related to the myth of At Attan as a treasure planet?

All of the kids seemed to be training and hoping for variants on accountancy jobs. Maybe At Attan was a banking world.
