I have now found my favorite G1 transformers episode:

It also has some of the most realistic parts ever, in the form of the paperwork scene. It's also soo relevant to life

Sometimes the explanation is something you'd never consider. I once asked the owners of a Toronto Thai restaurant, that's popular with university students, why they named the place "Salad King." The husband answered, "Sign was on building when we buy. New sign too expensive."
Back in the days in our local Chinatown you could find things like cafes which on the outside said barber shop, beauty saloons behind a grocery sign, etc. These were places that catered mostly to the Chinese community, so there was usually some window sign in Chinese which said what the business was actually about, but it made for some disconnecting sights.

Now the area has been completely gentrified and I miss some of its old charm.

I doubt that anyone here has ever heard it but there's a Newfie (Canadian from Newfoundland) stand-up comic, from the '70s, who did a bit about how his parents would control the kids with rum popsicles. I think it was Christmas based as well. I originally hear it at a rental cottage around 1976 and haven't been able to find it since.

"... but mom had the run popsicles in the freezer."
