Official Superman Poster

Has he?

I've not seen any of his work that fits the tone of Superman
From everything I've seen, he appears to understand the themes of the character and knows how to put an entertaining movie together. A far cry better than the folks who took a shot at it without seeming to understand the spirit of the character.

Edit: I couldnt even make sense of what I typed, lol

I’m very excited. I can’t wait for a Superman movie that’s actually true to the character. The last few have been…less than good.

I am curious why they’re using the Kingdom Come logo. Hmm…
If the Nolan and Snyderverse wasn't using the JLA character's names, they would be a great group of young anti-heroes for Superman to be responding to, Kingdom Come style.

Gunn has literally never made a bad film, they've all been hits and I firmly believe this will be his biggest film. Fears about it seem almost like he is some first time director and not successful. Man of Steel I was afraid for because Snyder had had flop after flop following 300. I was absolutely shocked when the guy who directed Sucker Punch was picked to direct Superman and I generally liked his movies to that point, especially Watchmen. When I saw MoS in theaters I spent the better part of the next decade convincing myself it was a great movie and only in the last few years, in spite of seeing the flaws, have I conceded to myself that it is "ok" as a dark elseworlds Superman story.

Everything coming out of Superman so far indicates a deep love for the DCU, especially the post Crisis era when DC was firing on all cylinders and the better elements of the silver age. It feels timeless.

This is, astonishingly, correct. He's made some cheap movies, but even those were good for what they were.

For me, the question is not whether it will be a good film. it isn't even whether he will get Clark/Superman right. the question is whether he can make a film without a bunch on inane and sophomoric humor in it. The inclusion of Gardner and a secret role for Alan Tudyuk (is he playing Dr. Phosphorus?) makes me worry that he can't.

As long as in some future movie Gardner gets decked by Batman, I will be happy
