Official Superman Poster

Sort of, but not really? It's playful, but I do have a disagreement with not wanting comic book movies to have silly and even lowbrow humor. I like silly and lowbrow; I don't want to see Gunn bowdlerize himself over the portion of the fanbase that's like "Superman is VERY IMPORTANT and needs respect.".
Not every movie needs to have his kind of humor front and center. i did not say anything about Superman needing to be "very serious business." But it doesn't need dick jokes.

Goodfellas, or Schindler's List, or The Terminator, or Alien, or The Shawshank Redemption, or The Dark Knight, or Fellowship of the Ring, or The Matrix, or Fight Club, or The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, and a thousand other amazing movies don't rely on silly lowbrow humour. There's more than one type of movie in the world!

Unfortunately, there's no indication that this movie relies on silly lowbrow humour either, I'm afraid. Sorry!

Yea, but not every movie is a James Gunn movie. If it's a James Gunn movie, I absolutely do want to see that kind of humor featured.

It's a shame, but it is what it is. Serious people need to be catered to as well; otherwise they start brooding. :)

So he's only allowed to make one type of movie? Can't he stretch his wings a bit?
He is of course allowed to do what he wants. I just hope he caters to what I like. Is that a wrong thing to express?

I'm literally saying what @Reynard said, except I have the opposite opinion. He doesn't like dick jokes, I do. I would assume that's a fine opinion to have?

It's not a binary choice. "Serious movies" and "Low-brow humour movies". There aren't just two types of movie, either. There's hundreds of types of movies!

This one sounds like it feels like a family, hopeful style. I guess kinda like the first couple of Reeve Superman movies.

Case in point, Justice League by Giffen and DeMatteis was considered one of the best incarnations of that book, and it was filled with humor from Guy Gardner, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. It’s the meshing of humor and drama that Gunn does well, and I would hate to see them try to restrain that.

I have no idea what any of that means, but it sounds fun!
