All good. I vastly prefer the tldr version, however, as the expurgated version sounds like it's taking jabs and making sweeping statements that express more than your personal feelings on the matter.
It was a summary, not an expurgation. My statement made my feelings on the topic clear while respecting your ideas. No sweeping statements or jabs were made; went quite the opposite direction actually. We clear now?

tldr; don't worry about it

People seem to be tired of how it's common for others to redefine words or expressions to suit their needs.
It's ironic for you to tell others that adventure hook is a common use term when you are the one whos been redefining what "your" definition of story is.

We get it. We all play differently. And I know...were all volunteers here so we all get what's coming to us for continuing the conversation even long after the point has been whittled down to...."that's not how I do it."
"Adventure hook" is a common term.
this is not intended to insult so apologies if it comes off that way but i feel like most people don't tend to percieve their own views as aberrant.
While true, this is related to the second part of the previous post I quoted above. It feels like this entire disagreement over how your & story should be defined can be squarely attributed to a decade of 20104's PHB effectively guiding players to make whatever they want & expect it to work without consulting anyone while wotcstaff kept saying the ambiguous phrase "tell your story" without context or additional clarification making it clear if the phrase is directed to "you" personally the listener or the players who make up your group/table/party of fellow players & if that story is one that you control the telling of at an author type level or one where you merely participate in as one part of the whole

I’m honestly just amazed that this part of the conversation is still ongoing. 😉
