Lightweight, Simple VTTs?

Bill Zebub

“It’s probably Matt Mercer’s fault.”
I was a big fan of the first version of Owlbear Rodeo, but last I checked it had gotten more complex.

I don’t want fancy tools like adaptive lighting and animations. Or character sheets and system specific rules. Just basic drawing on background maps, fog of war, token movement, and a dice roller.

Any suggestions?

Not kidding, its 50 bucks for the GM, free for any player. Never pay anything again. Has great community support for dice rollers, excellent map set ups, fog of war, draw, etc..

Oh, I know, I’ve used it. I just don’t think of “you can ignore all the features” to be the same as “simple and lightweight”.
True, I suppose I dont really get what lightweight means then in this sense becasue my use of foundry has been complex to very rudimentary. When Ive done theater of the mind with a simple map and dice roller it wasnt like I had to turn a bunch of stuff off or learn to work around it. 🤷‍♂️

I will be playing with 8-11 year olds and I want to minimize the number of things for them to start clicking on.

My suggestion is that you continue to use the first version of Owlbear Rodeo.
