You really need to think of what is in the books as being more ephemeral too IMO.
I do personally. Nothing WotC does affects my play. But like I said, if you're just going to make a bunch of changes for reasons which as far as I'm concerned have nothing to do with making the game better creatively or for your best design reasons, then I'm just going to have less respect for you (or at least for the people holding the purse strings; I know the designers themselves don't get to make all the decisions).

I think you need to remember the bold part. That is from your perspective. That doesn't mean you are correct (or that you are wrong in whole or part). What is better, design reasons, or creative is highly subjective. So they could be hitting all of those wonderfully, and you still may not feel like they are (and vice versa of course).

No argument.

I like the First World. Though I tend to take the main gods being Bahamut, Tiamat, and Sardior as dragon propaganda.

It should have been Jaziran, Arhiman, and Io.
Tiamat and Bahamut are the OG, everything else is a retcon!

I have incorporated the First World in my campaign as a version/part of the Dawn War from 4e. I don't include Jaziran, Arhiman, but Io is the name Tiamat & Bahamut gave the First World.
