Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Licorice is an abomination, in any context.

I could go with jalapenos and pineapple on a pizza, though.

When I worked at a pizza place in college in the late 80s/early 90s, we made one with every topping on the menu on it just to try -- and the primary driver of taste came down to whether a particular piece had jalapeno or pineapple on it. It might be important that no types of fish were on the menu.

You made this post in the prior thread too, didn't you?

Good to have it here as well. :)

I like jalapenos on pizza, but my wife doesn't have as much tolerance for capsaicin as I do, so we don't do that much. I'm not normally a person to sprinkle red pepper flakes on my pizza, but I've come to appreciate Burlap & Barrel's Diavolo spice blend as a pizza sprinkle.

Nah. Although salmiak is pretty brutal and I'd want aquavit to wash it down.
I can't stand licorice at all, in any form. I can barely tolerate anise/star anise/fennel, even in contexts they belong.
Heck yeah. Those two and pepperoni is a classic.
Jalapenos, pineapple, bacon/ham, onions. That's my own jam.

Not even red/strawberry licorice?

That's a good one too.

The latest combo my brother suggested and was great is sausage, tomatoes, feta and spinach. (We have a ton of Greek pizza places around here).

That stuff, to me, isn't licorice--it's certainly not the flavor that makes me gag. It's not my favorite, either, but it's not horrific.

Alas, I'm not a fan of any leafy greens, and how I feel about tomatoes as a topping will depend on how thoroughly they get cooked (I don't like raw tomatoes). However, I recognize that the combination hits lots of classic notes.
