Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

D&D 5E Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

You are the one who railed that it wasn't really Eberron anymore. I just pointed out that wasn't some universal truth.
No I said that 5e has a bunch of mechanical elements that conflict with Eberron's tone and setting elements while naming specific examples.
"NONE" what? I don't understand this sentence.

Same link 34:30ish "we made it so no d&d character is required to have magic items to meet the survivability and damage output targets we have for characters at every level. We actually balanced the entire game so you can make it all the way to 20th level and not have a single Magic item."

Nothing I've seen in the 2024 books suggests a course correction there. If anything they are even less needed with more powerful PCs and that gets underscored by the new character sheet not even seeming to have a section to record current attunement or a section that differentiates mundane items/equipment from magic items

Not very convincingly.

That 5E does not require them has nothing to do with whether players get them in Eberron as a matter of course. Most 5E games I have run, played and seen are about as dripping with magic items as 3.5 ever was -- except they don't have to be the same boring items that everyone in 3.5 had to have.

You argument that 5E is incompatible with Eberron's tone (as if there was a singular Eberron tone) is just plain wrong.

Mod Note:
@Reynard - Folks don't have to justify their opinions, or convince you, personally, for their opinions to be valid. And if the point of this discussion for you is to be RIGHT, then you have missed most of the opportunity available in it. Maybe consider that in how you discuss things.

@tetrasodium - You don't have to justify your opinions, or convince any particular individual, in order for your thoughts to be valid. If they are too stuck in being contradictory about it, screw 'em. They don't deserve the growth of understanding your perspective can provide.

If Maverick as artificier subclass can appear, why not the medusa as PC specie?

If Hasbro could publish a collab or crossover with other franchises, for example superheroes, Eberron, or a mash-up version of Eberron, would be chosen as setting.

Teorically magic item shouldn't be totally necessary but WotC loves to publish lots of new one.
