It's a shame, too, since he was terrifying in Mission Impossible and his Man from UNCLE role was an amazing Bond audition tape.

The Man from Uncle was far more fun than it had any right to be.

Bond often strikes me as a star-making role rather than one that requires a star going in. I don't imagine it will hurt him too much if the Broccolis think he's the right actor.

36, so he'd be in the running. I suspect that they'd want a six footer though, rather than someone who is 5'8".

I'd go with John Boyega. He's 32 years old, has the tough guy cred from "Attack the Block", and has the looks to carry it off. He's only 5'9" but, with the rest going for him, I think it could work. Come to think of it I just looked and had no idea that Daniel Craig is only 5'10", and as far as I'm concerned he's the best book accurate Bond since Lazenby.

Bond has been dramatically different with each actor. I’m sure it will be again.

Daniel Craig did just fine fitting "modern audiences." Not to mention, most of the modern audience just wants a good movie and doesn't care about being preached at (I'd even say prefers not to be).

Anyhow, I thought Cavill was confirmed. I guess that's an internet rumor.
