The fact that a lot of people engage with cyberpunk media and utterly fail to pick up on the deeply anti-corporation, anti-capitalist themes and just focus on the kewl swords and leather coats has never been more obvious or disheartening. That anyone could go beyond that and actively cheer on the cartoonishly evil corporations in the real world is just mind-boggling. Some people clearly lack empathy of any kind. I think there was even a proto-cyberpunk novel about that. Hmm. Might have to read that again.

I’ve got some family matters that are eating my time and emotions at a formidable rate. I know what it feels like when I’m on the edge of erupting in totally unearned flame at some random person online. Rather than do that, I’m gonna take a break and see if focusing extra attention on the matters will help speed a solution. Hoping to be at a reasonable point by the end of April. Maybe sooner if some miracles happen in the meantime, no, I haven’t been abducted by the famous Elvis- and Dick Dale-worshipping surfing Bigfoots of Puget Sound. Nor anyone else.

I recommend a walk around Point Defiance or, perhaps, a little sitting on the rocks below Snoqualmie Falls. I hope to do the latter and unwind from work a bit, in a a little over a week.

I’d love to, but since the sudden onset of orthostatic hypertension in 2021, the longest I’ve been able to walk with a walker is 3 minutes; on my own, about 15 steps. So I’d have to coordinate such things with my caregiver, and I’m not her only responsibility. And on like that.
