Well, our offer on the house wasn't accepted. Now we're back at square one, and we're looking at five potential homes today. House-hunting isn't awesome.
Friends were looking to upscale homes, a couple of years back, in Tacoma. Seems it had suddenly become a hot market and every home they wanted to put on offer on was sold before they could. I hope you have better luck going forward.

It is very tough where I am too. Everything is expensive. We were lucky to get a tiny little apartment for the price of what would have got you a nice two bedroom years ago. Houses are even more of a nightmare

A soon as a home goes up for sale in my neighborhood, the bank buys it, tears it down, and builds a new one which stands empty. They are excellent tax writeoffs. Especially since the practice constrains the supply of new homes, keeping prices high. Highly recommended!

Uh, if you're a bank, I guess.

Oh, and if you can convince the township to reduce the minimum size of properties, like in my town, then you can put two huge houses on postage-stamp properties, and charge more! Charge $800K for houses in a $500K neighborhood.

Oh, you won't sell them, but they will force up the value of your other prosperties in the neighborhood!

No, it often isn't. We were fortunate that we were able to afford like the first house we liked, and our offer was accepted.
