I don't understand...I don't have any problem with what Matt did. Sorry if it seemed otherwise.
I mean, the ethics of vigilante justice aside, I don't think Matt did anything particularly over-the-top to the Irishman. It didn't seem any worse to me than any other beating he's given to a bad guy.

What confused me is how he switched the diamond for a candy. When did that happen?

I just got caught up after week of spending all my time playing TW: Warhammer and I have to ask: Does this there is, in fact, such a thing as a Ren and that least one of them was slain?
Are you referring to Ravonna Renslayer from Loki? If so, I believe "Renslayer" is just an Anglicization of the Dutch name "Rensselaer".

Yes, it was a reference to Ravonna, : ) .

I did think Matt was just trying to end the fight. Remember too: he is not wearing "his suit" for this, and it is is in a place that can become public at any time. A definite "get it done" moment. If they are remembering Matt's ability to detect lies part of his willingness to do it too might be he knows the guy was not lying about killing people.

I just watched the first episode, and haven't read the rest of the thread, because I would prefer not to be spoiled. But..

They fridged Foggy?!?!?! They done my boy dirty indeed! Grrr.
According to the wording of the relevant law, your honour, my client cannot technically be accused of having committed a fridging, ; ) .

But yeah, I was teh sad too.

I assumed it was when he and Mr Khan were down in the vault and brought the diamond in the bag upstairs then tossed it to the main robber ie Matt never handed the diamond over - albeit that does rely on the robber not bothering to check.

He didn't toss a bag to them. He tossed the bare diamond. The thug made the switch and Matt caught it.
I have just re-watched the scene to check for myself.

Matt: "You and I both know you didn't come here to kill anybody. You came here for this." He then holds up the diamond, and the camera cuts in close so you can see it's the actual diamond.

Matt and Devlin have a bit of back-and-forth while Matt listens to the lead cop outside counting down. Devlin starts counting down from three in sync, and when both Devlin and the cop get to one, Matt says, "Here. Catch." The camera is in close and Matt moves his hand too fast for me to see what he's holding, but then the camera cuts to a wider view from behind Devlin, and you can see him catch what appears to be a bag (it's dark, bulky, and bigger than the diamond) just before the camera cuts to the explosion at the front doors as the cops bust in.

Devlin has no time to check what's inside the bag before he uses the chaos and smoke to slip into the office and change into his cop outfit. He then gives the bag to the woman who had been pretending to be a hostage on his way out. She doesn't bother to check what's in the bag until she's outside and safely around a corner.

See. I missed that. I assumed Devlin was double crossing the woman and leaving her with nothing. This DD chases him down, gets the diamond and gives it back.
