I always just assume that other heroes are tied up with their own crap. The Avengers are dealing with world ending stuff, at the very least. Spider-Man has his personal issues, etc.. When they have a team-up is when their worlds align.

This. If you don't assume at least some problems that other heroes are engaged with we don't see, almost no superhero show set in the same city works. Its not like we're meant to believe when they're not on-screen that all these other heroes are just sitting on their behinds.

Matt is particularly heavily involved because A) He and Fisk have a lot of history, and B) He was involved in the White Tiger case. Others may have more immediate priorities.

Just checking that you saw the credits scene?
Oh yeah, it goes south pretty much instantly. Don't ask me how Frank is still able to talk after taking all those shots to the jaw from the cops, lol.

Though I recall what me and my friends would joke about back in the 90's when the Punisher was at his height of popularity. The more money he makes, the more powerful he gets. Not unlike John Cena getting a power boost every time he sells some merch.

And those cops were sure wearing a lot of Punisher merch!

Love me some Radiohead. Wow, the stakes are high!

As much as I loved this episode (and can't wait for Season 2), as others have noted, the power of the story is undercut somewhat when you start asking what happened to all the other heroes who might have a stake in this new fresh hell.

Were they all on vacation? : )

It's rough, because this is Daredevil's story, and any other hero showing up runs the risk of stealing the show (I mean, any time Frank Castle is on screen is amazing!). So I'm not asking for a new Defenders team up, but I'm just afraid that these events will get a token mention, if at all, in other stories moving forward.

I really hope I'm wrong, but I mean, the track record isn't great for the MCU so far.
It's par for the course in comic books, and those are places that they don't have rights issues or issues getting actors or budgetary issues. They're usually going through their own stuff. It's something you just have to get used to in comics.

I'm now a good chunk of the way through OG Daredevil S3. I should wait till I'm finished, but right now I would rate the seasons thusly:

Season 1
Season 3
Season 4 (aka "Born Again")
Season 2

I think the show works best when it focuses on the dynamic between Kingpin and Daredevil. Season 2 suffered from the fact that Kingpin was mostly missing. The Punisher arc was good, but I didn't enjoy the Elektra / Hand vs Chaste war arc much.

I'm glad that "Born Again" has maintained the focus on Kingpin vs Daredevil, but it still felt kind of disjointed - probably due to the change in showrunners and reshoots and such. Also, Karen is one of the best characters on the show, so in retrospect, I think "Born Again" suffered from not having her be in most of it. (I'm less sold on Foggy. Sorry.)

Don't ask me how Frank is still able to talk after taking all those shots to the jaw from the cops, lol.
I think it goes with the cartoonish gore. In the Netflix Punisher series, Frank can't speak after Rawlins beats him to a pulp.

On the subject of the credits scene: I wonder if it is setting up the upcoming 1-hour Punisher "special presentation" (like Werewolf by Night) or the next season of Daredevil. Anyone know which is meant to come out first?

Isn't Kate on the west coast doing recruiting with Kamala?
Why would they be on the west coast? When did that happen? I don't think we've seen either of them since Kamala showed up at Kate's apartment in NYC during the credits scene at the end of The Marvels.

ARE there any Avengers at this point? I am not sure there are...
Of the originals, Thor and Hulk are still around. As of Brave New World, Sam (as Captain America) is rebuilding the Avengers team with the new Falcon as his first recruit.

Avengers-adjacent heroes like Ant-Man are still around as well. Clint is still alive, and it's unclear whether he has officially retired and/or passed the Hawkeye moniker on to Kate yet.

We also have Kamala actively working to start up a Young Avengers team, most likely with Kate as her first recruit. I'm guessing she'll end up with the Maximoff twins (after Billy finds the reborn Tommy) among others.

But would you refer to your neighborhood as “the city”, or would you reserve that term for the whole of London?
I see it like the term Skid Row. It's just a name for a section of town that is different in some way than the entire town as a whole.

And just getting home can be tough.

New question: Matt makes no attempt to disguise his voice when in his Daredevil disguise (unlike, say, Batman). Why don't the people who know Matt ever recognize him by his voice (and/or his scruffy jawline)?
Clearly for the same reason no one puts Clark Kent and Superman together because glasses.
