Half two is just a common shorthand for half past two. I use it pretty constantly.
In Sweden it is short for half an hour before two... I was informed by my Swedish colleagues in Dublin when I worked there that the Irish did it the wrong way (as in the Irish meant half past two) ... There had appearently been some misunderstandings before... :)

And if the Irish said they would meet you at six-ish, it meant they would be there around seven...
