It was also always hinted that Victoria Neumann could possibly take on Homelander, but she was not willing to take the risk. That's one of the reasons they linked Victoria and Marie, I think.

It precedes the most recent season of The Boys. You probably want to watch Gen V first, because stuff that happens at the end of the Boys season where you are expected to know who some of these people are and what this MacGuffin is.
