I do.
A Shadowdark fighter is just numbers go up.
You can put that beside a 4E weaponmaster and a 3e wizard.
Just get the number right.

I'm curious what is your take on No Multiclassing but rather have multiclass-like Feats as per 4e (which 5e kinda does have)?Oh let's not forget Feats kept getting piled on as well, just making things more complicated than they had to be.
Yes, and that was my point. The changes you don't want in a hypothetical 6e are no more radical than the changes that were made in other editions.D&D has, on average, changed far, far more over the years than any other RPG. Your claim is not valid beyond the 800-lb gorilla.
Ah. Well, in that case, you just keep saying "no phones at the table" and boot people who refuse to comply.I was reacting to the use of a cell phone at the table, noting about cell phones
I do not think this is true, even if D&D went from 1-40, we would not agree on the mechanics and other stuff, even if the range would cover all our ‘styles’We do all want the same 6e.
Just different level ranges of it.
But should they never cut bamboo, a small tree or even a mast in half from range? All of which is true, correct, and fine.
A swing of a sword should never cut a galleon in half...from range.
Have you every played any other RPGs, because that is not how it works. At all.I do.

My perception has changed a bit on this. My mind was kinda blown when I heard Paizo say that PF2 was selling better than PF1. I couldnt compute that in the face of the success of 5E and the community split of PF1 and PF2. I realized, finally, that the high tide floats all boats thing was coming true.I honestly don't know whether the existence and relative success of those other games will make the pressure to change lower or higher.
OK, so for hypothetical 6e:Became I'm Good at Sword. I'm so Good at Sword that i can kill someone from the other side of a room with it without getting close
A lot of people will dabble, and some of them will switch, but I don't expect anything to ever replace D&D because D&D is more than the game.My perception has changed a bit on this. Now, a lot of buzz about these other systems, particularly from 5E haters, makes it seem like D&D's bottom line is threatened. Though, im guessing its like World of Warcraft and every other MMO out there situation. Something would really need to take a nibble at D&D's bottom line to cause a hard reset reaction, and if PF2 cant do it, these other launches are not likley to either.
