Spoilers Foundation Season 02 (Apple TV+) - SPOILERS

One of the big questions about the S3 reveal is the null field. Did it actually have that impact on Baeta, aka was she faking, or because she is so powerful psychically it had that much of an impact on her. If so that seems like THE weapon to use on her, if Hari's ship can generate it should be possible to either use the ship or just recreate the tech and use it.

I am not sure how much that was aimed at the Foundation and how much it was aimed at the Empire. In the end, it is the Empire that attacks Kalgan and then gets its fleet blown up. That might be important to ensure a Foundation controlled by her can safely engage the Empire (especially since there was still a lot of in-fighting before she had control.)
And isn't her husband more an inner circle to the Trader's among the Foundation - and they didn't seem to be talking directly to each other at this point, it needed the events of Kalgan and the Mule threat to get them to talk.
That's a good point. In the show, the Empire is in much better shape than it was in the books at this point in time.

I still think there were easier ways to achieve her goals, given that she is a minor celebrity/influencer with direct access to important people, but I'm also probably looking at the show with too much baggage from the books, rather than as its own thing.

Part of the issue is I think your looking at it from the wrong lens.

Your looking at it from a genius strategic mastermind who is going to take the most optimal path to victory. The Mule is not that. They are nacisistic and enjoy being in the middle of things. Its not just the destination, its the journey. The mule is enjoying the ride, and so doesn't always make the "correct optimal" decision.

As with all Book to TV/Movie adaptions, I tend to throw a lot out the window of what I already know should happen according to the book and just TRY to enjoy the ride.

That being said, I have really enjoyed Foundation, I kinda knew Magnifico wasn't going to be the Mule but was a bit surprised (happily) when it ended up being Bayta. Each season has gotten better for me; I was actually rooting for Day at the end.

So was I, I so wanted Day to win, but I think the story wouldn't have been as good.

I had no idea Bayta was the real mule but I did think it was weird how she told the mule to leave the infirmary. Was the original mule her brother or another psychic that she was controlling, did he believe he truly was the mule? I've so many questions.

Looking forward to season 4, are the robots coming to save humanity from the mule? Can hardly wait to find out.

I’m not 100% sure Bayta is the Mule either, I was thinking it was Magnifico and he just projects enough mind whammy stuff to make people think they are the Mule.

The section of the last episode that kind of made me go “huh?” wad Gaal’s space action hero moment of diving out the station and surfing the -probably- unbreathable upper atmosphere to sly dive into the ship. That and wasn’t she badly wounded? I’d forgive this more in a Die Hard type action movie, but I wasn’t actually sure if what we were witnessing was really happening or an elaborate Mule illusion to get her to lead The Mule to the new 2nd Foundation.

(Disclaimer; never read the books so all speculation is based on the show only)

It was Magnifico in the books. Making it Bayta feels too topical to this year, and seems like a last minute change, poorly explained, to me. How did Second Foundation agent guy not notice anything, since he knew her already? How did Bayta-Mule not pick up anything about the 2nd Foundation from him earlier?
