It was Magnifico in the books. Making it Bayta feels too topical to this year, and seems like a last minute change, poorly explained, to me. How did Second Foundation agent guy not notice anything, since he knew her already? How did Bayta-Mule not pick up anything about the 2nd Foundation from him earlier?

Yeah, it did leave a lot of questions... Bayta in the books does have a bond with the Mule but even though I she was a happy surprise for me, there are a lot of "yeah but..." hanging questions.

I’m not 100% sure Bayta is the Mule either, I was thinking it was Magnifico and he just projects enough mind whammy stuff to make people think they are the Mule.

The section of the last episode that kind of made me go “huh?” wad Gaal’s space action hero moment of diving out the station and surfing the -probably- unbreathable upper atmosphere to sly dive into the ship. That and wasn’t she badly wounded? I’d forgive this more in a Die Hard type action movie, but I wasn’t actually sure if what we were witnessing was really happening or an elaborate Mule illusion to get her to lead The Mule to the new 2nd Foundation.

I must admit when we saw her space jump, we laughed pretty loudly at how unreal it seemed.
