I found out recently that The Warriors is based on a Greek play by Xenophon called Anabasis about Greek mercenaries who had to fight their way out of the Persian Empire when Cyrus the Younger is killed while trying to take the throne.

Tuco (Eli Wallach) has many great lines in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, but my favourite is near the beginning when Clint Eastwood goes into the building to claim his reward leaving a tied up Tuco awaiting his fate and the sherrif/mayor (cannot recall) comes out of the building to confirm the arrest

Who the hell is that? One bast*rd goes in, another one comes out.

from Road Warrior every time we pass one on the freeway. Because I did it so many times they pronounce "tanker" the Australian way in normal conversation.
