No, Professor, I can't help you with your esoteric issue with <Microsoft Product for Web>. It works correctly in the actual application. The notes for <Web Application> indicate that not all functions work in it. You getting petulant about it doesn't change the fact that I am not Microsoft.

Had someone tell me today.

"No, clearing my cookie/cache will not work."
"Other browsers? OK yes those work."
"What? Linda said clearing cache worked? ...."
"I'll get back to you."

The worst time of year.

Elsewhere. Boy, that escalated.

General: It's gotten difficult to follow threads lol

The ones that get downright abusive over their demands are the worst. I fully expect this to get escalated all the way to my CIO because some profs think that a PhD makes them God and simply don't accept "No."

As a Prof who regularly plays cards with two of the IT folks who used to work for our department and are now elsewhere in the University and who regularly chats on FB with one who is elsewhere in the state ... 100% that.

I also sympathise with the complete abject lack of support from above (CIO down to them) many of them suffer, and the inability of the University to staff or pay well for their skills.

(Part of getting a PhD is apparently being imbued with complete mastery of editing, assessment, data analysis, writing, management, pedagogy, and numerous other things that they don't seem to realize have specialists of their own.)
