In the original toy line, each action figure (definitely not dolls) came with a comic book. It was thought boys needed something explaining the lore to keep them interested in the product. Those comics were quite different from the cartoon, with He-Man being a more Conanesque, savage barbarian armed with an axe and no Prince Adam alter-ego. Adam was Filmation's idea because "kid's love secret identities."Wasn't the cartoon first, made specifically to sell the toys?
Unlike the 80s MotU movie, at least this one isn't set on Earth for the entirety of the movie. I've never actually seen the original live action MotU movie. Not feeling the Eternia-Earth link. As with the 80s one I ask myself, why? If they need to link He-Man to Earth then don't bother, you're missing the point.
You're not missing anything major if you never bother to see it - even by 1980s standards its bad and has very little to do with the cartoons, comics or toys.Unlike the 80s MotU movie, at least this one isn't set on Earth for the entirety of the movie. I've never actually seen the original live action MotU movie.
The after-credits scenes are just Skeletor dropping truth bombs and then running away. Rinse and repeat.I came for the trailer. Looking forward to the movie. Need a Skeletor wisecrack.
Easy. Production costs. And no, this He-Him does not hold a candle to the Dolf, from what I saw.Not feeling the Eternia-Earth link. As with the 80s one I ask myself, why?
Worse. But if Chris Pine were He-Man...Box Office Gross do we think it does better our worse than DADHAT?
