I do an editing pass too, but editing your own stuff is a perilous adventure. Full of missed opportunities and spurious punctuation.
Going word-by-word backwards (i.e. end of the page, end of the paragraph, end of the sentence) sometimes helps as does reading things out loud. But yeah, the brain is great for filling in what you meant rather than spotting what's actually there.

@Whizbang Dustyboots I'm looking to get all my stuff consolidated and 'official-er' looking, was it Affinity you were learning the other day? The site claims is now free, unless you use the AI tools?

Affinity has now been slurped into Canva, after Canva bought them. So yes, that version of it (which is apparently very good) is free. (I'm sure eventually there will be a subscription or a premium tier or something.)

My wife and I got the Affinity Suite before this happened and we paid for the products, which are still supported but I think getting sunseted. Our version has no AI and, when I'm doing the layout, barely any I at all.
