How about "allies who use a Luck token to succeed on an attack add your Cha modifier to their damage roll"?Yep. Shadowdark gives out luck tokens. There's definitely room to work with that mechanic, either by getting more of them, letting them do more things, or both.
Paladins as a party’s lucky charm…How about "allies who use a Luck token to succeed on an attack add your Cha modifier to their damage roll"?
Edit: or "allies who use a Luck token to reroll an attack or save add your Cha modifier to the roll"?
"Kiddo, I believe in you."Paladins as a party’s lucky charm…
Bringing out the best in other people.
Way ahead of you there. Now I'm starting to envision an entirely different class that does all kinds of twisted things with Luck tokens....
I'm envisioning something along the lines of a Paladin accepting "bad luck" (maybe Disadvantage at a meaningful moment, or otherwise Something Bad) in order to generate a Luck Token for somebody else.
Maybe some kind of mishap table?
