D&D 5E Midnight: Legacy of Darkness announced at GenCon Online

There were one or two independently produced adventures, but the box set Fury of Shadow may be more like what you're looking for. Here's a review and breakdown: DriveThruRPG.com - Midnight: Fury of Shadow Reviews

D&D 5E Midnight: Legacy of Darkness announced at GenCon Online

Hey Greg, good to see you. :) Echoing both things you said. This was a happy surprise yesterday, and everyone's enthusiastic responses made me smile. :) Also, we were reading through the 1e core book last night and I said "man I cannot believe the horrific things in this book." It's not like...

WHAT DO YOU WANT SANTA TO BRING?

I'll pay the overseas shipping so francisca can have and appreciate it, as someone offered to do for me lo these many years ago.

    D&D 5E Official D&D Basic Discussion Thread

Hmmm, given that no other spell has this bizarre higher level effect, I'm gonna go with typo. Other spells go up a damage die per level, so think it's meant to be +1d8 per slot level above 2nd.

    D&D 5E Official D&D Basic Discussion Thread

Spiritual Weapon states: "At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for every two slot levels above the 2nd." Should that be for every one slot level above 2nd or every two slot levels above 1st? Or am I...

Two encounters at once: what would you do?

"What would you do if you had a million dollars?" "I'll tell you what I'd do, man: two encounters at the same time, man."

    D&D 5E Advantage in 5e combet

Surprise alone doesn't seem to me to be enough to grant advantage; there should be some other element present. Sentries presumably are alert and ready for action so just surprising them should grant the surprise round but not advantage. If the rogue took the trouble to sneak around into a...

D&D 5E Unexpected but (mostly) awesome new rules in Basic

As a scholar who studies gender and sexuality, I can assure you that no language will ever satisfy everyone and new reasons to avoid this or that language will continue to arise. :) Judith Butler gives brief and readable examples of the internal conflicts between different queer factions in...

Fort Wayne, IN - ENnies RPG Playtest Group

I'm going to play as many of this year's ENnies submissions as possible, necessitating getting a playtest group together. Currently, we will be meeting at 6pm at Gamequest, on N. Anthony (by Firefly Coffeehouse). New game every week, determined by the number of players who show up and group...

Rich Baker was on Jeopardy! last night

When I tried out, the audition process was pretty grueling. We assembled at the Belo building, about 40 of us. They gave us a piece of paper numbered 1-50 and a pencil. They cycled "$1,000" questions (at the time, this was the highest) across a screen and you had 5-10 seconds with each question...

    What's great about the ENnies

Nope, not a question, a preview statement. :D I've been a great fan of the ENnies for quite some time, from attending the first "ceremony" to being nominated at the first live show out in the hallway of Midwest Express Center to seeing both Midnight and Dawnforge take home the gold. The awards...

So you want to be an ENnies judge...

I like Judge's Pick(s) much better than Honorable Mention. If you're going to nominate 5 products then don't clutter it up with a sixth (especially if it's wasting time at the awards ceremony). I would guess that HM is at least as much about assuaging the losing judge in a tight battle for Top 5...

So you want to be an ENnies judge...

Yes, I do...finally! Hi everyone, I thought I'd throw a new wrinkle into the process late in the game. :) ENnies judging panels have a long history of excellent reviewers, lifelong gamers, and active members of the roleplaying community. However, because of the stickiness and ease of entry...
