    The old soft shoe...

I feel that sometimes a punch needs pulled certainly for story reasons or maybe because a player is attached to his character. I also think this is why DM rolls shouldn't be known to the players. The DM should bluff you if he's pulling his punches and never tell you if he did. This doesn't...

    Dealing with Death

It might seem like power abuse but you could put penalties on rerolling. Nothing to severe. Tell them they can't reroll the same class they just used. That way they can't just reroll the same character to avoid the disadvantages of resurrection. It also helps if you require them to write at...

    Is there a feat...

It's called Open Minded and it gives you 5 skill points. I use it to meet prerequisites sometimes.

    Tailored Prestige Class

Well thank you everyone who helped it was much appreciated. I suppose asking people to rewrite a whole prestige class for a different type of character and to ask that it be balanced is a little much. I didn't really think about it before posting. I've decided to go: Wizard 5/Paragnostic...

    Quarterstaff?

I always thought you could always hold a 2 handed weapon in one hand and use the other for anything but in order to attack with a 2 handed weapon you needed two hands. Someone tell me if I'm wrong please.

    Tailored Prestige Class

I looked at those and I took a second look just now. They fit my character a little better. I don't like the esoterica of the master specialist though. The loremaster's abilities are nice but I feel like they won't be useful because my DM likes to make some stuff up as she goes. I feel like the...

    Tailored Prestige Class

For my current character I am playing a wizard. I've been trying to pick a prestige class to go into because I don't like playing a wizard from 1 to 20. I don't see the point. I like the Unseen Seer class from page 81 in the Complete Mage and I specialized in divination. My character however is...

    Why do you play D&D?

    1. I love stories of all kinds. I read, I watch tv, I watch movies, I listen to audio books, and I spend a majority of my time in my imagination. 2. It is a thing to do with friends. Playing video games and board games gets boring and repetitive. Pencil and paper has unlimited opportunities...

    Quarterstaff?

I have considered a TWF build with a quarterstaff, but I usually prefer to get proficiency with the dwarven waraxe and take the penalty.

How much would you pay for a Helm of Protection from Evil?

Would this item have spell failure? It's not the same as armor right?

    Most Stereotypical Knight Ever!

When I think of a knight I think of someone who has sworn a number of oaths to rulers, people, and Ideals. He must hold himself strictly to a code of conduct and he must never waver in his duty. He is a slave to these things and it would be better to die than to fail. If I were making...

D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 newbie help: High melee damage output builds

I like Rogue/Barbarian with power attack and cleave. Some people might argue that a barbarian can't be sneaky though. I think a barbarian can be as sneaky as you want, you just need to play a personality that fits. Sneak attack with a 2 handed weapon and rage is nice.

Camoaign control - Guilds and Monopolies

My favorite house rule is, if you want to sell a magic item you need to go looking for a buyer. If you want to buy a magic item you need to go looking for a seller. This is nice because you can make the players quest for gear into adventures. As for a balanced economy, I usually don't bother...
