OUT OF THE ABYSS Has Derro - Check Them Out!

Yes, they're adding the evil vampire manta ray clerics. Also there was a preview of a mongrelfolk entry done up in the MM fluff style. I'd been worried that it would be appearing here instead of in a dedicated monster book, but it seems to be absent from the list. Perhaps we can hold out hope...

D&D 5E 1 Year later: D&D still strong on amazon

I can't believe a D&D core book is all the way down at #300 overall. Obviously D&D is on its last leg and clearly going to go bankrupt any day now and definitely be outsourced to the North Koreans.

Aren't they adding Bladesingers in the SCAG?

D&D 5E Low Level Wizards Really Do Suck in 5E

Edit: never mind, not sure why I posted this, please delete

    D&D 5E Bard's Instrument

The instruments of the bards are all very good, but they eat up an attunement slot, can only be used by one class, and typically grant a number of spells that aren't exactly going to see daily use. Plus all of them really need both hands to play, so they may be hard to use in combat. Comparing...

D&D 5E Pros and Cons of using the average damage on the Monster's stat block.

I use average HP, but not average damage. Mostly because it's how I ran previous editions. I'd maybe use average damage if I was fighting with mobs of 10+ enemies, just to speed things up, or if I was having monsters attack passive NPCs and didn't just want to handwave it.

D&D 5E Mage Armor: A (nearly) must have?

At low levels, your spell slots are arguably better spent on other stuff, and if you're a dwarf, you're better off using real armor, but for most wizards once 3rd and 4th level spells start coming in, spending the one 1st level slot on mage armor at the beginning of the adventuring day is a...

    Compiling WOLFGANG BAUR's AMA

The newspost is riddled with black font on the legacy style.

    D&D 5E High-level no-save spells in practice

I categorically disagree. The game is built to require some amount of ad-hoc/GM Fiat rulings. More pertinent to forcecage, we have huge creatures (frost, cloud, and storm giants) who are explicitly too tall to fit in a 20x20x20 ft. cube, if you go by the listed heights on page 153 of the MM.

D&D 5E Forgotten Realms 5th Edition - Which Campaign Setting?

5E Forgotten Realms takes place after the 4e era, in the late 1480s to the 1490s. Another RSE called The Sundering caused Toril and Abeir to split apart again, and more or less rebooted the realms back to their 3e-era state. Some magic shenanigans have caused most of Drizzt's supporting cast to...

[UPDATED] RAGE OF DEMONS! New D&D Storyline Features Drizzt, Underdark, & Demon Lords!

The blurb on the RPG adventure is the only one that doesn't namedrop Drizz't, so it's unclear what his role's going to be in the actual RPG product. I feel like the main reason they're pushing Drizz't in this is because of the novel coming out. I don't really mind the focus on the FR. If...

    C&Ds for Online D&D 5E Character Generators

Losing a tool like this sucks, but it's the nature of the beast with IP law. Not taking action against infringing, if innocuous sites, has the potential to weaken WoTC's case against battles they need to win, like sites copying the book wholesale.

D&D 5E Should Aasmir and Elderin be allowed in organized play?

The player's guide for the Tyranny of Dragon's season of the Adventurer's League says that character options can be taken from the PHB, the basic rules, and the Hoard of the Dragon Queen appendix A. This pretty much outright states that Eladrin and Aasimar aren't playable in Adventurer's League...

D&D 5E What to do with ball bearings?

Ball bearings proper don't really appear until the industrial age, I don't know how much technology would be necessary to make them. Stone and glass marbles go back well into antiquity, though. I also imagine that you could easily make metal balls out of cast lead, but I don't know how smooth...
