SPYCRAFT: Blood Money (The African Dream)

[OOC: I am taking the following: Standard Liner in clothes, pistol with silencer and laser sight (in holster), mirrored glasses, and his cell-phone.]


Ken catches the late cab with GhostFox. After arriving, he pays/tips, exits the taxi, lets GhostFox know what he is up to, and wanders for a bit outside the African Dream.

[OOC: The soldier working to cover his team's trail and keep an eye out for suspicious fellows (Spot +6). He is a yell or a cell phone call away if needed. Not exactly the social type, he'll evaluate the crowd outside the club and casually check out the buildings entrances and exits.]

Kim smiles and pours on the charm... his face showing an almost genuine interest in the female waitress.

Kim wraps the waitress around his finger and soon he gets her to enroll the help of her friends waitress to locate Jeff Neilan.

-''Here he is Darling, Nola told me it is the overweight gentleman playing snooker at table number 6.'' Says Karen, the helpful waitress.

When Kim tries to pay his tab, Karen stops him.

-''This one's on the house. When you're done catching up with your buddy, look me up. I finish at 1 AM''

She winks at Kin and leave to get the orders of an other client.


OOC:
Initial disposition, you rolled a 16 (+4 +1 for females) = 21. He disposition goes from neutral to friendly (+1 to gather info)

Bluff: Ro. 8 + 11 = 19 (I rolled 1 for the sense motive)
Gather Info: Ro. 10 + 10 = 20 ; DC 15 for seeking out specific man
Spot: Ro. 5 + 7 = 12

You Notice nothing wrong in the club.

[OOC: Here's the lowdown on the group so far (typing this up because I'm losing track of what's going on. Heh.):
Luddite: Home studying manuals and journals and such.
Steel Ronin: Covering the teams trail, looking for suspicious characters, checking entrances and exits.
Tokiwong: Hitting on anything female that moves ( :p ), trying to spot suspicious characters, pumping waitress for info.
Ghostfox: Just arriving at club with Steel Ronin.
Roman: Sitting at corner table watching room. Basically seeing who's watching both Tokiwong and whoever he talks to.
Amirr: Also looking for suspicious people, bribing bouncers. Sitting with Tokiwong

If there's anyone suspicious, we'll probably spot them. Heh.]

Roman watches Tokiwong and the waitress and scans the room to see if anyone is paying any undue attention to Tokiwong. (Spot 4, Surveillance 6). He smiles when the waitress melts from being to near Tokiwong's fire, then looks where the waitress is pointing.

Roman orders a beer and sips it slowly while listening to the general murmur of the club, trying to get a bead on the general feeling of the crowd and pick out any interesting conversations (Listen 5)

Roman has a sudden idea and pulls out his cell phone to give Luddite a call.


-Luddite? Roman here. Looks like Tokiwong is working the crowd successfully here. Might even have a bead on Neilan. What I was wondering is if we could find out where he's staying and if it would be worth it to check his place out? Figure if we're going to chase a lead, might as well run it into the ground. What'cha think?

Kareem walks up to what looks like the head bouncer, and shakes hands with the man, a $50 concealed in his palm. That should get him to the front of the line.

Kareem sits down at Kim's table, trying to spot anyone suspicious [Surveillance +5, Spot +5]. He orders the house specialty, and rolls his eyes at the way Kim is manipulating the waitress.

"You don't believe my stories? I'm shocked!" Kareem begins in an incredulous voice. "If you annoy the driver just enough, he seeks to get rid of you as fast as possible, thus making for a shorter drive. He especially wouldn't want to dump us rich foreigners, would he?"

After getting his drink, Kareem settles down in his chair and starts chewing some gum, and then adds "When we say hello to our friend, how do you think he will like the news?"

Taking a second look at the place, Kareem frowns in disapproval and bangs his fingers on the table, looking bored.
 

Kim smiles to the waitress...

"I look forward to that..."

Kim reaches into his pocket... and pulls out his cellphone... and dials up Luddite but thinks against it... Kim stands with his drink and approaches Table 6... he grabs an empty chair and smirks...

"Any way I can get in on this game?"

Kim turns to Jeff...

"Have you seen some of the women in here..." shakes his head, "I just might have to take a couple home with me..." he whistles as one passes.

OOC: Sense Motive +7 just to get a bead on his demeanor and current emotional state if any... then try to get a hand dealt and play a game with them.. willing to go up to $100 for the hand... Using Innuendo +8 to try and speak with Jeff about the sighting of our lovely terrorist friend... Gather Information +8 check following that to glean anything useful on said terrorist... if things go bad he will try to calm him down with a Diplomcay +11 (Threat on 19-20 and yes he will spend action die if he threats)

Also will spend an action die on the Gather Info check if the original die roll is 10 or lower. Because of Adaptable I get 2d4 instead of 1d4 for the action dice spent for either Diplomacy or Gather Info...

Sipping on his drink, chewing gum, frowning, and watching for the infamous bad guys, Kareem looks up. "Why? Does the Captain want to create a tragedy to consolidate his support, or maybe to be the hero when he cleans it up? Does a terrorist group want to smuggle STB into my country? Or is some corporation trying to make money? Did some kind of biological weapon testing get out of control?"
Kareem leaps up out of his chair. "There has to be an answer, and we're going to find it!"
 

Ghostfox acknowledges Steel Ronin's plan with a thumbs up and says "Roger that. Keep an eye on your six, Ken."

With that, she steps into the city street. ((Shield's up)) she thinks as Ghostfox puts some steel in her gaze, intimidation and attitude paving her way through the masses as she steps to the club entrance. Searing the bouncer with a winning grin, Ghostfox discretely forks over the mandatory tribute. As the bouncer clears the way for the lady, she places an an appreciative squeeze on the door-guard's arm.

Having taken care of the initial pleasantries, Ghostfox makes note of several things:
  • the location of her team-mates
  • any obvious and less obvious points of egress (a grand entrance may be nice sometimes but a quick exit or three is always handy)
  • anyone taking TOO much interest , though that might be difficult given that any number of guests and waitresses fawning over the team's macho men
  • a good spot against by wall where she has a good view of the club, the guests her teammates. Failing that, she will take the next best thing, probably the main bar, just as long as no one will able to take her by surprise as she watches over the boys.

She summons the bartender...
