S2: War in Vastermarch - Completed

Hearing Nodis' call, Razh holds off attacking a few moments. When he sees the construct move up and attack, he turns around to assess the situation. Seeing Ogrin and Talbin taking care of the double-axe wielding orc and one of his cohorts, he switches targets, charging the returning orc while yelling "Welcome back, pig-face!". His axe slams into his opponent, cutting deep into its shoulder.

Ogrin yells in halfling "Talbin, buddy, wait a moment and we'll outflank this fiend. Watch his axe, it bites hard!", indicating the Persuader. Fighting carefully as ever, he takes a few steps towards Talbin and the Persuader and attempts to once again surprise him with a quick stab to its gut. His sword penetrates the orcs armor and skin, and Ogrin then tries to cut downward towards its groin, damaging the orc further.

Talbin takes a step into flanking position with Ogrin while yells back in halfling "Great plan, let's get him!". He strikes out at the orc with his shortsword but fails to find a good opening to draw blood.

Round 5
Razh delays until after the constructs
The red-garbed orc steps back 5 feet to sheild his flank. He then lashes out at Talbin with his greatsword, striking a glancing blow (6 dmg).

The second construct moves back North, taking a blow from an orc falchion on the way. The construct responds by smacking the orc back, breaking its neck. It continues its swing around but misses the other orc.

The first construct dashes south at Nodis' command, and slams his fist into the orc leader. This red garbed orc is also felled by this mighty blow. His body slams back into the wall behind him limply, then slides to the ground.

Talbin steps away from the carnage and tries to stab Persuader in the back. The attack isn't bad, but it can't penetrate the heavy armor.

Ogrin barely manages to strike Persuader, but the big orc is too quick for his bluff. Ogrin does manage to avoid both ends of the axe again, though.

His first target slain, Razh directs his ire against the big orc attacking his best buddy, Ogrin. The dwarf manages to sink his axe into the orc's shoulder.

One orc swings its falchion at the second construct. The other attacks Talbin. Neither hits.

Rasereits lets his axe do the talking, chopping at the raging orc barbarian.

Ogrin attempts yet another half-hearted feint, fully expecting his opponent to once more see through his attempt. His attack draws blood again though, but probably not as deep as Ogrin had hoped.

[SBLOCK=Rolls]Razh: Attack persuader 17, damage 9

Ogrin: Combat expertise, Feint vs Persuader 11, attack 20, damage 6, sneak damage 11[/SBLOCK]

In the mist of the frey Talbin spots an open spot in the Persuader's armor. He lunges forward and drives his shortsword straight in soft flesh.

critical confirmation & damage: 9 & 15
too bad, no confirmation

Nodis, male human shaper 5, HP 31/31, AC 16, PP 6/35, Focus spent.

ooc: I protest! my count is 9 orcs and a minotaur! :p

Also, as a minor note, I'm counting the constructs duration too - note that both should disapear after their actions in round 8, since the 1st one was created with a manifester level of 6 thanks to Overchannel, and the other one only 5; though it appeared one round later, it's duration is also 1 round shorter. Also I curently have only 6 power points, not 11

Nodis tries to refresh his mental energies, and continues directing the constructs, who roam through the battlefield smacking orcs around. He's experienced enough in these kind of fights to know it's near the end, unless any of the orcs manage to strike a lucky blow.

[sblock=ooc] Nodis tries to regain psionic focus as a full round action, but fails. The second construct definitely kills orc #5 (hits AC 22, 8 damage) and the 1st one hits the Persuader hard (attack roll 26, 13 damage, Str check to trip 21). All rolls here. Both maneuver after the attacks to get better positions, lookig to offer the other team members flanking bonuses (movement 40 feet)[/sblock]

Round 6
Nodis focuses but can't regain his focus. Meanwhile, his second contruct takes out another orc. His first construct smacks Persuader hard enough to damage him though his armor. The construct uses its bulk to try to force the orc to the ground, but the orc is no pushover, and stays on his feet.

Talbin stabs through the orcs armor as well, very nearly finding a vital organ. Ogrin slices into the orc from the other side, though again, he can't pull off the orc's guard with a feint.

The orc, now badly wounded and surrounded, merely bellows with rage and lashes out at the dwarf in his face. His axe draws bloody gashes twice in Razh's flesh.

Razh's axe deflects off the orc's armor.

The last regular orc steps away from Ogrin and swings its falchion again at Talbin, but misses

Notes [sblock] Thanks for the info on your power points and construct durations. I'll modify. One of the orcs you slew was leader, and, as such, I wasn't including him in your orc count. Maybe I should, but the list could get cumbersom if I include all your kills, particularly since more than one PC is involved with some of the deaths. By the way, Persuader's AC is 20, & I think this is the third time in a row Ogrin's hit him with that attack total. Also, I believe while raging Razh also has an AC 20. If I'm wrong, I'll have to edit this post. Nothing much has changed on the map. Construct 2 could actually get around to attack Persuader too. There's only him and O3 remaining.[/sblock]

Nodis manages this time to build up a small measure of psychic energy, but distracted by the effort he can't direct his second puppet well enough and it merely flails its arms aimlessly. The one that appeared first, however, drives the crazed orc into the ground like a tent pole.

[sblock=ooc]Actions are the same as last round; Nodis builds up his psionic focus with a roll of 25; 2nd construct moves, if needed, to attack the Persuader but fails totally, hitting only AC 9, but the 1st one manages a natural 20, though it blows the confrmation roll (natural 1). Damage is 9, Str check to trip 15. Rolls here and confirmation here

As before, maneuver the constructs so they offer flanking bonuses to other party members[/sblock]
