S2: War in Vastermarch - Completed

While Talbin ducks under the Falchion of the other orc he strikes out at the Persuader with his short short while shouts in Halfling "This one sure is tough!".
He manages to plant his sword, cutting the orc with a deep wound.

The axe wounds, though serious, only serves to annoy the raging dwarf. He lets out a menacing roar and splits the orc's skull with a mighty blow, then steps closer to the remaining orc and impales it on his shield spikes.

Assuming that the combat is over
Blood dripping from his wounds, face, weapons, shield, armour, well, pretty much everything, Razh turns around, looking for more enemies. When none come, he moves over to the stable, lying down in some hay to rest. His fists still grip his weapons, so hard that his knuckles whiten.

Looking down at the mess that once was the Orc barbarian the party henceforth would call 'Persuader' Ogrin comments. "There's times where finesse works bests, and there's times when brute force does the tricks. Thanks again, Razh."

Ogrin then goes to see what happened to the sentry seen fighting an orc on the battlements earlier, or if there are any other survivors nearby.

[SBLOCK=Rolls]
I forgot that Razh can use a shield bash. The axe rolls should be two lower if no flanking is available, and another two lower for using Two weapons. I believe it's still two hits and two kills.

Razh Axe Attack 35 (natural 20), damage 11
Razh Axe Crit confirmation, 26, damage 27

Razh Shield Bash 27, damage 10)

Persuader and the last orc soldier are cut down in a flurry of blows from the party. It turns out that the human soldier above has killed his orc opponent as well. The party quickly secures the fort. Some orc activity can be observed in the town below, where all the buildings have been set aflame. Several soldiers remain alive in the fort, though they are leaderless. About 15 townsfolk can be found hiding in the fort, including the woman's children. They all look at you, nervously, for leadership.

"Guys, it turns that orcs can be wicked fun after all" says Nodis "But I think we're done here. I'm nearly spent on energy, and you don't look like you have much fight on you, either."

"Aye. We should move out before the orcs in the village come to rejoin their leaders. Let's see if these ones have something we'll have need for first, though."

Ogrin instructs the villagers to take as much food, water, supplies and blankets as they can find. He also asks the woman they saved earlier where the nearest fortified city can be found.

Several of the soldiers and villagers are wounded. "The nearest town would be Braeholl. It would take a full day walking to get there. We're tired and hurt. Let us rest in the fort." says the woman. "You can protect us!"

Going over loot, several items stand out. Since no one has a detect magic spell, though, it's hard to say what you might be missing or mis-judging.

From Persuader
Breastplate armor is obviously of exceptional quality.
Orc Double Axe is also very nice looking.
His black cloak seems to be more than typical

From Sergus
Studded leather (masterwork or better)
2 potions
Fine Greatsword
Skull amulet
10 gold coins
2 red rubies

The orcs and minotaur have weapons and armor, but nothing that looks particularly nice.

"Oh well." says Nodis. "I suppose we're not going anywhere today, and I need to rest. And I suppose you want to babysit those people" he tells Ogrin.
