ooc: I've had intermittent trouble, too, though it sounds as though my issues have been much less severe than many people's. Hope they sort this out soon. In the meantime, we'll just have to carry on as best we can.
Quickly leaving behind the room with the fireplace, you open the double doors across from the entrance. Surprisingly, the large room that the creaking door exposes is not dark; a steady blue-white light shines from a tall candle high above the floor in one of the sockets of a tarnished brass chandelier. The other sockets are empty.

The room illuminated by the cool light is spacious and open, with smooth wooden floors only slightly warped by time and damp. The ceiling is high and arched, with decorative relief patterns in crumbling plaster. Several heavier doors lead to the west, and two smaller doors lead north and south.
