...where am I...?... I remember the pain .. and the pressure..... Ferris finds himself surrounded by a misty light, seeming to emanate from everywhere and nowhere at once. A gentle tugging pulls him to place that he knows will be of peace and joy... finally arriving at his beloved's side. Another more insistent tugging will return him back to a place of hardship and pain... yet he knows that he must go there... no peace for him yet.

[sblock=tactics]That sounds great for the death saving throws, but I'm more concerned about the vine sustaining its grab on Ferris (it's not ongoing damage, so it wouldn't be ended by that powder). Another 2d8+4 damage can potentially kill Ferris outright.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]So, hopefully we'll hear from Phoenix soon, but I'm going to go ahead and move things along here and try to save Ferris' bacon...[/sblock]

Seeing his companion in desperate need of aid, Bann-ur rips the vine off of his neck, taunting the vegetal creature as he does so, "Think I make good plant food? Come get some!"

He then leaps back out of the vine's grasp and rushes over to the other vine that is rapidly constricting the life out of Ferris. Noting the rate at which the shifter is exsanguinating, Bann-ur remembers the medicine given to Ferris by Gepu. Praying that it will work, the goliath quickly reaches into the pouch on Ferris' belt and sprinkles a pinch of the powder over the cleric's prone form. To his astonishment, the shifter's wounds immediately begin to close and the gush of blood stops.

The immediate mortal danger thus averted, Bann-ur turns his attention on the vine that still holds Ferris firmly in it's grasp. He grabs the viney appendage wrapped around Ferris and gives great heave yelling, "You will NOT eat my friend!"

The thorns come loose and Ferris is freed, though still unconcious...

Alnar rushes over to check that Ferris is OK. Glad that Ferris escaped death Alnar turns his attention the the remaining adversaries.

I've had enough of bugs and killer plants, taste arcane fury! Alnar motions in the air and three javelins of ice appear in thin air and hurtle twords the remaining enemys. The icy spears hit their mark stabbing through the vines, but the Stirge dodges just in time, shattering against it's body absorbing most of the impact.

Chilled by Alnar's arcane attack, but even more angered by Bann-ur taking away its meal, the closest vine lashes out at the goliath to no avail, and in doing so calls down the radiant wrath of Jezebel's Oni patrons. The now badly damaged vine recoils a few feet back toward the presumed safety of its bushy hiding place.

Somewhat less affected by Alnar's ice magic, the other vine follows closely behind, pursuing Bann-ur, reluctant to give up its own meal, but its attack on the goliath proves equally fruitless.

As the heavily injured stirge completes its retreat, its sibling, provoked by Alnar's attack swoops in to retaliate. It sticks its proboscis deep into Alnar's side, firmly latching on to the sorcerer.

Alnar once again rips the bug from his body. Stupid thing thinks I'm a scrawny wizard, maybe I need to stop wearing robes. As he does so his skin gleans with red scales briefly as they harden against damage. He than flings an orb of acid at it, causing it to plummet to the ground.

Since Alnar has taken care of the stirge threat and Ferris is safe for the moment, Jezebel turns her full attention to the remaining plant creatures. She cracks her whip loudly at the vine that ignored her challenge - the coward! - but she still has trouble actually making contact.

At any rate, she knows that the dark gods will strike down her foe if it ignores her again, so she decides to circle around Bann-ur's target instead. Jezebel steps on various vines trailing away from the moving jaws of the creature, trying to distract it enough for the goliath to finish it off.

Bann-ur and Enemy Actions

Bann-ur swings his maul and peals of thunder resound from the weapon's arc, smiting both the vine creatures and driving them back away from the party. Undeterred though, the closer of the two vines lunges at Alnar, seizing him in its gaping maw. This once again incurs the radiant wrath of the Oni upon the barely sentient vegetal creature, causing it to wither in the burning light of their demonic ire and die. The other vine, now badly damaged as well and seething with anger, rushes back and snaps at Jezebel, but is handily deflected by her plate armor.
