This might have already been mentioned somewhere, but are there any new monsters in the MM? Not updated monsters or retuned retro monsters, but straight up brand spankin new, never before seen until right now monster?

The empyrean is new, although you can argue that it's a revised titan (classical style).
You could argue that a few of the specific animated objects are new, but that's a pretty wild stretch IMHO.
Other than that, all of the monsters in the MM are classics. It's a pretty good list, too- the only things I'd have replaced are the quaggoth, nothic and homonculus. IMHO there are many far better choices.

Man, I love the Quaggoth. I had forgotten all about them until I found them the other night. I immediately wrote up a underdark mercanary group made up of quaggoth with a spellcaster (Thonnot?) as a leader.

Empyrean is the classic titan, I guess to distinguish from other potential titans(?). Vine blight is very similar to assassin vine, but new lore! Needle blight...almost certainly something...
