D&D (2024) Older Adventure Compatibility?

I'm personally not buying it until all three core books are out, I've seen enough reviews to make an overall decision, and I've seen how much errata there is, but I'm curious how backwards compatible folks feel 2024 is? Not in regard to old classes, etc. but specifically in using straight 5e adventures out-of-the-box. Are any changes needed to run older modules? How different are monsters now, for example (recognising that we have few to go on before the new MM is released)?

I'm understanding that you can just run 5.0 adventures with 5.5 and they run fine, but it is on a more easy mode. PC get cooler bumps and powers while monsters are the same. Maybe just max HP monsters to make it about the same as is was just 5.0

All published 5e adventure modules have always required re-balancing by the DM if you want them to be remotely challenging. That was the case with 2014 rules and it's still the case with 2024 rules.

So they're just as backwards compatible as they ever were "compatible" with anything in the first place.

I don’t see too many major issues. Some boss monsters will need adjustments to legendary actions, I’m sure (gotta figure out how I’ll do Tiamat eventually).
I can tell you that green dragons just got a nice upgrade against parties with access to heroes’ feast relative to 2014, though. Hmmm, pit fiends and erinyes too.

From what I've read of the PHB, you should be able to run it out of the box as well as you could with the 2014 rules. Monsters from the adventure that haven't been updated may (or maybe not) be a bit weaker than compared to the new monsters. But I doubt that there will be enough of a difference to really matter.

From what's been reported, all the new monsters will still have the same CR as the old ones. The difference, however, is that the 2024 monster's stats are being adjusted to more tightly fit their CR (whereas, the 2014 MM monsters didn't always match their listed CR power-wise).

I'm planning on running Lost Mines of Phandelver for some newbies in the near future, and I don't foresee any issues.

From what I've skimmed over, I don't think I'd use 2014 monsters with 2024 characters without adding a little oomph to the monsters (maybe push them up a CR's worth in damage and hp per tier at most). Beyond that, mixing 2024 and 2014 looks like it will work pretty much interchangeably for the casual crowd.
