Favorite Mini's I painted

First Post
Here are some of my mini's that I painted.
I will try to explain and answer any questions you have about them.

This first one is a Barbarian that I copied off of a fiends mini.
His had white trim and mine is a light blue. I did it as an excersize to see if I could paint as well as him.
Then after I finished this one I painted the Red One posted next:

This is the Red Barbarian
We used these Barbarian in the Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil as bandits, and Npc's
Enjoy,

My favorite Dwarf that I painted about 12yrs ago.
I used Mike Mcvey's advice published in a book called Fantasy Miniatures published in 1989. I remember that it took me about 3 hours to paint this little guy.
The paint has not faded or worn off even with hours of D&D play.
I sealed it with a clear matte sealer used on Ovens to prevent rust. The sealer is sadly not available any longer and my can is now empty :(

Enjoy,
Darius

Last one for a while....
This is a ghost/spectre from an old Ral Partha set I also painted this one about 12yrs ago. I finished this one with the same finish as the dwarf and after hours and hours of use the paint has not come off at all. I even dropped this one on cement to my horror and the figure is just fine.

Cool stuff, and the pics aren't too bad. Keep em coming and I'll comment some more later this week. Of course, I'll be commenting as perhaps the single worst painter of minis who will actually admit to painting minis, but perhaps that isn't as important to the effort as simply trying to paint. :)

At least your still painting hehe the more practice you get the better you will be... I should post a pic or two of the first mini's i ever painted with enamals waaaay back in 1978 -1979.
Never knew you could strip off the paint at least not until recently.
I always thought if you made a mistake at $.50 a figure I would just buy a new one....ahhh youth. It was a sorta personal goal not to make a mistake if possible.
It also helped that one of my friends at the time had an uncle that worked for Ral Partha and he got us figures for free all the time.

I really like the scalemail on both of the fighters. The blue looks especially clean. That dwarf is an awesome figure. I am going to go see if I can't find the minatures book you mentioned. Good pics, but the carpet drove my eyes crazy.

The three I am going to post later today will be on a more solid backround lol. Those last ones were taken on a towel....

Here a favorite Quote of mine....

"In anything at all, perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add, but when there is no longer anything to take away..."
-- Antoine de Saint Exupery, "Wind, Sand and Stars"

If you want to I will post Anne's figure that she painted for me. She inked the gold and highlighted him really really well. I also will eventually post some work in progresss pics.

This is a reaper Efreet (or at least that is what i thought he was).
He is a great figure to paint and I inked his flesh then dry brushed it then inked again then dry brushed. Same with the pants.
I do not think I inked the gold but it was dry brushed with three different shades of gold.
I really like how the eyes turned out as well.
Enjoy,
Darius

I like the brick wall as a backround better...but here is another one for ya.
This mini is a more recent one ...within the last month. I love Confrontation Mini's they have some movement in them.
This picture is a little on the dark side for some reason.
I painted him pretty much the same way as the picture on the card was.
