JustinCase, so glad you're back! We specifically put off recruiting anyone new because we hoped you'd return. Welcome back. :)

Of course and welcome back! We thought we lost you (Erevan fell into the darkness from the webs) with the intent on having a surprise discovery if you came back! Woo!

As for SunGold's comment, that certainly is Ez's goal! I do agree that Surana is good for Ez, and he hopes to be a good influence on her. Once we get 'Van back, we will rock the underdark as the 3 musketeers once again! All for one, and One for all! :)

So what's funny about this is Surana asked for an ale and ale appeared. Then you guys wished for Erevan and...

Were the pop culture references in the gnome encounter lost on you guys? Hint: Lloyd is a character that appears briefly in a suspense movie from the early 80s....

I had rolled a "mad gnome" encounter and was racking my brain on how to make it interesting...then Surana presented am interesting opportunity.

Don't watch a lot of suspense movies. Not surprised that I missed that reference! ;)

EDIT: Was also thinking that it was Buppo in disguise or something.

I did laugh when I saw JustinCase's post this morning. The Underdark sucks, but it's handing out wishes like candy. For the record: Surana wishes for a unicorn.

And no, I didn't get the reference (wasn't born yet, help me out here). When I think "80s" and "Lloyd", only one thing comes to mind:

The Shining. The main character (Jack) is a recovering alcoholic. He and his family are caretaking a haunted hotel in the Colorado wilderness for the winter. He goes in the bar and says to himself "I'd give anything for a drink." Suddenly Lloyd the bartender appears and pours him one. When Jack realizes he doesn't have his wallet Lloyd tells him "you're credit is good here." (Inferring that his soul was the price).

Had you drank I'd have revealed the illusion afterwards and you'd have gained a level of madness...

Hah, I've seen The Shining, but only once, years ago. Wouldn't have put that together.

Surana was never going to drink. The only options were "play nice since I owe Ez one for killing that derro" or "stab it as soon as he turns his back to check out the casks."
