[IC] SWS/DnD5, Star Wars the Old Republic – A Gathering Darkness

guttural hum drone clacketty "This one will try to get a look," 'whispers' the gand, aiming herself towards a step-pyramid to their right at a stealthy, padded trot.

It's not as high as some of the others, but its close and it should be easy enough to climb, even without its lost jetpack. A sensible first step...

OOC: Peek along and around a few times as he/she goes up please. Looking down on NERV HQ: 1D20+5 = [4]+5 = 9. Ha! Maybe next round. Can he/she at least spot the source of the light and the general topo of the place, if any?

This Gand quietly moves forward and makes his/her way through the outer alleyways between the strange buildings. S/he is as quiet as a can be but looking around s/he sees or hears nothing out of the ordinary... at first. There is a strange, wheezing like breathing coming from where where farther down the main board road that was leading towards the bluish glow. This Gand could not be sure where exactly it was coming from.

S/he thought she also hear something moving closer by. Stealthy padding through the alleyways moving closer towards where the group waited...

GM: Its up to this Gand whether s/he wants to wait another round or two and make a second Perception check or not... S/he gets the distinct impresses there are at least two or three things moving about nearby and something breathing weirdly farther back.

This Gand quietly crept up the side of a nearby step pyramid like building. Glancing around a corner and looking down s/he notice a form moving in the shadows. At first s/he could not really make it out but then it darted from one shadow to the next and for a second s/he got a pretty good look at it. It was a large beast, maybe a lizard-like creature, at least five or six meters long from head to tail, maybe two and a half at its shoulders. Its skin seems to shift colors slightly, just for a second, and its deadly muscular tail appeared to have a sharp spike at the end...

You can make a Intelligence (Nature/Life Science) check with advantage from studying your datafile on the planet, to determine what it might be[/sblock]

Suddenly there is a eerily howl from several blocks back in the cluster of buildings. Everyone heard it and it sent primal chill down their spins... the howl echoed through the chamber before dying off into silence once again.

Kacela frowned in the gloom and her hand tightened on the hilt of her lightsaber.

"I don't like the sound of that," she whispered to the others. "We may need light soon."

Reaching the top of the pyramid, the gand evaluates the giant lizard's trajectory: right for the base of the spiral stairs (seems she hasn't been spotted yet)... Drawing her folded carbine, she presses her wristcomm close to the vibrating silver ring of her cocoder: slurr clacketty short-clack whirr "Large lizards incoming at 8." it announces. guttural clack jumble drone clicketty, slurr whirr clacketty hum click "This humble suggests advancing behind cover of the pyramids to the right of the road, leaving the lizards behind?"

[sblock=OOC] The gand is suggesting the rest of the party sneak away from the beasts towards the main pyramid/main objectives in a deadly game of hide and seek? :)

Knowledge Nature: Herpetology: 2D20.HIGH(1)+2 = [20, 2]+2 = 22

Ready Action in case the lizard starts attacking/charging the party (hopefully with Surprise):
Blindsided: 1D20+8 = [18]+8 = 26; 3D8+8 = [1, 7, 2]+8 = 18
1D20+8 = [3]+8 = 11; 3D8+8 = [1, 5, 3]+8 = 17

If not, remain and keep watch, guiding the party away from what beasts he can spot.[/sblock]

GM: The creature was moving through the pyramids towards the 'open space' before the staircase (where the party is presently holding). There is no way to travel down the main avenue through these buildings to avoid where the creature is presently at. If you want to try and make your way through the pyramid building on the other side of the avenue but the going would be much slower and much darker.

Crude map... (note the strange pyramids are all around the circle in the middle within the chamber. The bluish glow is coming from the top of the map. The building that this Gand is at is right on the edge of the open area I did not place it very well...

[sblock=this Gand Knowledge check]This Gand thinks that the lizard thing is a very mutanted Ssurian but that the back fin has been removed and various bones-structures have been modified extensively. The predator is normally a forest/jungle hunter (ambush-stalker). The tail has also been modified somehow and this Gand gets the felling that this is not due to some natural evolution[/sblock]

Cal activated his comm and quietly responded, "Seems time is of the essence here, maybe we should engage them and try to finish this quickly? I'm moving to one of the smaller pyramids to the east, maybe we can catch them in a crossfire."

The medic padded forward and negotiated one of the smaller pyramids to the east, hoping to achieve a reasonable firing solution. Upon gaining the position, the scout slung his carbine and readied the sniper blaster rifle he had acquired.

OOC: Not sure if any rolls are needed. If a stealth roll is required, here it is: [roll0]
If the total is less than 15, I'm spending a Force Point - [roll1]
