So, after thinking about the Poison Spray cantrip for another thread, I was just curious what "attack" cantrips people like the most for their characters?

You are allowed 3 votes and please to comment why you like them if you are so inclined. :)

For this poll, I am only doing cantrips which require an attack roll or save as part of the cantrip (so, not including Magic Stones or Shillelagh, for example).

If I overlooked any, PLEASE let me know and I will update the poll and summary image below:

Thanks for voting!

EDIT: Magic Stone and Shillelagh have been added due to evidence that people believe they should be able to vote for them. Again, thanks for participating!

I voted for Eldritch Blast, because it's the best Warlock attack cantrip.
I voted for Firebolt, because it's the best Wizard attack cantrip.
I voted for Thorn Whip, because it's the best Druid attack cantrip.
I would have voted for Sacred Flame and Vicious Mockery, but I was restricted to only 3 choices.

EB is going to be the clear winner here, because...well...obvious reasons lol. I also like Toll the Dead and Frostbite
But not everyone plays Warlocks... In all the caster's I've played, only one was a warlock. So, for me, it isn't top of the list really.

While I certainly expect EB to do well, there are no "winners" really, I am more interested in which cantrips don't see hardly any lovin'. :)

I voted for Booming Blade, Primal Savagery, and Toll the Dead.

I like BB for the rider and comboing it with Sneak Attack! My current PC using Shadowblade can SA for a whopping 6d8+5d6+3 with an additional 4d8 if the target moves! Love the spell. :)

Primal Savagery is just cool and it's ACID damage, which not much is resistant to IME.

And, of course, TtD because damage boosts to d12 easily, has good range, and is against WIS saves which lots of creatures aren't great against.

My shadow sorcerer has the magic initiate feat at level 1 (human) and I chose EB and hex :D So even my non warlock caster is rocking EB because it's better than most other cantrips and scales really well, especially with hex. All of my shadow sorcerer spells are pretty much on theme (save or suck, not much damage spells, etc), but that one feat allows me to have significant damage output as well.

Frostbite is great for NPC villains. Nothing makes a rogue sweat more than a debuff that removes Advantage.

When I'm not using EB, this is my go to. My front line allies certainly appreciate it when I grant disadvantage on people attacking them ;)

The saving throw based spells are useful for being ranged options which don't require an attack roll, making them equally valid whether or not you're engaged in melee combat.

they are also good when the target has cover. Which happens surprisingly often.

Thorn Whip is just great for forced movement, and thematic too!

Druid cantrips are amazing. Mould Earth, Shape Water, Primal Savagery. I could just run around with those four and be quite content thankyou very much.
