History
Travellios Giladodel is the 2nd Son of his matriarchal House. As a male, he is expected to study the wizardly arts and perform the Ritual of Bonding with the daughter of another highly placed House. Thusly, the status of his family will be elevated. Should he excel in his studies and impress a even higher Lady, he would do well in raising his family into a higher caste altogether.
The Ritual is a complex one which binds the husband to his wife. He becomes her protector and highest councillor, and the two are rarely if ever seen apart. Travellios' only elder brother and sister gave in to wanderlust and broke from the family nearly four decades hence, leaving in each other's arms and renouncing their heritage. The shame cost his family dearly and it has been a long road in recovering. A great deal of pressure has therefore been applied to the young wizard to not only succeed, but greatly succeed.
