I backed this one. I haven't been able to back a Bones KS yet and I was amazed at the level of detail in the Bones 5 releases over the previous Bones releases and especially those Bobby Jackson and Tom Mason sculpts. I'm a big ol Reaper strumpet though.

Yeah I back 4 and 5. I feel like the 5 minis were exceptional. I’ve still got a lot to paint, but I’ve made great progress. I’m likely going to back 6 as well. It’s just too good a deal for me to pass up. Also, agree that Bobby Jackson sculpts are just … wow.

Dang it- I might be a Reaper strumpet too!

While I don't think Reaper produces the finest miniatures, they have always provided a good product for the price point. They also have a good variety of miniatures making it likely you're able to find one that works well enough for your PC or NPC. I do have a soft spot for their larger models, because it's nice to get a big chunky boy for only $40.

I’m particularly fond of Ma’Al Drakar for $100 or $150 with paint in comparison to Tiamat for $300 unpainted from Wizkids.

I'm not actually sure how big that miniature is. Some drawbacks of the reaper miniatures, especially their larger Bones miniatures, is that you'll have to fill in gaps and very often shape the miniature back into place. This little guy below only set me back $30, which was a good price, but you can see the gap where the wing meets the body that I didn't bother to fill. Also, the miniature would not stand up without falling over when I used the original base so I had to replace it. So when you start spending $100+ on a miniature, I'm more tempting by what's being produced by other companies.

In the last few years, I feel as though WizKids has started to encroach on Reaper's market. They also produce qualify miniature for relatively low prices. I don't really like the aesthetics of their PC designs, but I dig their monsters. This little dude only set me back $16 and the plastic is considerably better than the original Bones material.

And I'm half way through Bones 1. 🙃
I haven’t painted more than a half dozen of my bones 1 miniatures. Bought paint and everything, partially painted a couple, they looked great, they never set in a non tacky way, and put them away and haven’t touched the paints since.

I mean, mostly because I moved and don’t have space to set up and paint, but still…

I’m not a fan of Wizkids and their price gouging practices of late. I’ve been buying bones for a while now but I find the gooped on Primer far more frustrating than any issues with any Bones material because when you get all that gunk off Wizkids gaps are extremely egregious.
