NeMoren's Vault [OOC]

How would you prefer to deal with combat. Would you like me to provide some sort of grid showing you and your environment, or would you prefer to do it all descriptively?

If you prefer the grid, do you have any ideas or examples you have seen or used in other games.

I like grids/maps. Check out my PbP "The Heroes of Silleria" to see how I've been doing it, though it's a bit time consuming.

I use screenshots from Interactive Dungeon and add letters to signify monsters and characters. If I keep a copy of the image saved, I can just make the letters objects and just click and move them around for each round, save as jpeg, and attach.

Your maps look great, but I don't have the software.

If all of my mini's and battle mats were not packed up (we're moving), I would use a battlemat and digital photo which is quick and easy. I may create some grids on a piece of poster board and find some type of markers.

I'm having a lot of trouble writing this post. Perhaps you should ignore it (it might be cursed).

I have had good success with Excel and Paint. Here is a sample:

I prefer Gru's excel map to the irony.com map because you can refer specifically to an area you want to move to or through by quadrant.

Gru it's funny to see someone using MS P Goshikku font in Excel besides me... ;)

Gurter is exactly where I would like him. Behind the human shield and in front of the ladies ;)

Just wanted to add that I really enjoy the game. Everyone seems the have very thought out characters and it shows...

Comments on marching order... Enoch is ok with his position.

But purely OOC and from a gamist perspective, here is what I as a player have to say about it:

1) I don't think Hawk and Ton should walk abreast, that just means that two people will be hit by any traps instead of one, and we've already been told there are traps.

2) No scouting? We have a rogue with darkvision... Or Ton could take point at the limit of the group's light sources, but IMO it is a waste not to scout.

3) Anna and Persephone also shouldn't walk abreast. Anna should walk behind Persephone to protect her if there is an ambush from the back.

4) Alternatively Enoch could bring up the rear if you want to place Anna further forward (at the rear it is likely she will waste a round to get into the action).
