Bochkovoe by Poltavpivo. A European Pale Lager that tastes like a lager? It was fine for what it was. Another one I'd like the opinion of from people who are particularly fans of the style it's in.

There aren't many reviews on Beer Advocate, and 3 of the 5 pointed out things that I didn't get at all. These seemed about right. "From the half liter bottle, it pours an amber color with a modest soon diminishing to nothing, head. The nose gets a light dose of bready malt. The mouth gets the same: light malt with some very light bitterness." "Smell: Slightly skunked pale malt with a hop backing. Generally sweet."

Not all Ukrainian beer is good up to you. One of the Obolons I didn't like.

Has internet now though.

Camping Beer Review.

Mostly bought favorites a I didn't want any duds learning the hard way a d70 miles from a decent booze store.

Grolsch. Dutch beer, macro lager went down really well. Bought a dozen for around $12 usd. Father in law and brother and sister in laws Mr Man both enjoyed it.

Didn't last the week anyway so mate who went to a show brought another dozen up.

72 on beer advocate I'm gonna be generous and 7.5 maybe even an 8. On some of the hot days it was even better
Well done Grolsch last bought a long time ago die to free glass with a bottle.

All the Ukrainian and cans were mostly gone by the 3rd or 4th day. Think one or two survivors were consumed on the Thursday (arrived previous Friday).

Emergency reinforcements were more Dutch beer Bavaria. Large 440ml cans. They went down pretty well but really preferred the Grolsch. They were nice enough at least.

Drunk the most on the Monday. Even resorted to Aussie lolly water and some cider.

Anything cold, wet and alcoholic was required. Drunk around 3 dozen beers a few were a bit stronger in terms of ABV. Mate brought up some hazy IPAs down the hatch.

This is what I was dealing with though.

Upstream heading into hill country.

Didn't go swimming 1/7 days on the coolest day. Quick dips around 10:30am then an hour or two around 2-4pm.

Hates it!!! Turns out same site from a cub camp in the 1980's as a kid, 2 kilometers downstream from my old school camp site.

Birdsong Mexicali Stout. A really nice Stout with (plenty of) well balanced heat. This goes on my list of winter beers. I need to compare it to Photon Sphere and see which is better. 87=Very Good (3.89/5) on Beer Advocate. 5.7% ABV.

My one and only beer this week.

Sapporo 5% lager.

Sry crisp Japanese lager I'll give it a 70. Prefer Asahi/Grolsch/Krombacher so kinda pointless to buy again unless it's cheap.

Camping there were communal fridges. A slung some booze in them and over the week none went missing.

So went out for pizza the other night. Ordered this.

Peroni 5% lager.

Not sure if I reviewed it before it's Italian and I quite liked it. 75/100 for me. Wouldn't mind a set of those glasses tbh.

This, Krombacher and Grolsch are my favorite generic reasonably priced lagers.

Said Pizza.
