Here comes deity number 21, pray you are seen as part of the pack lest you become his prey.
The Primal Beast, also known as The Great Hunter and The Pack Lord, is the primal spirit deity of beasts, the hunt, survival, and is the embodiment of nature's fury, savagery, and resilience. He is often depicted as a large predatory spirit made up of the forms of various carnivorous animals all acting in unison, often with the primary shape being that of a great hyena though he is sometimes seen taking on other predatory animal shapes as well. It is said however that when interacting with the Gnoll, he will simply appear as a large ghostly hyena (like picture number 8).
The Primal Beast is often seen as the darker, more dangerous aspect of nature when compared to the World Tree's more nurturing and compassionate depiction. The Great Hunter is not needlessly cruel, most of the time, but he cares little for those unwilling to endure that harsh forces of the wild and overcome them. He encourages his followers to learn the ways of hunting and surviving all that nature throws at them, and to always challenge themselves in order to hone their own senses and strengths.
The Primal Beast is often seen as one of the terrors that stalks the fringes of civilization, waiting to tear it down at every turn. Despite this, The Primal Beast does not truly hate the civilized lands and those that live within it. He and his followers simply act both as a reminder of nature's uncontrollable and unyielding spirit, and as a warning of what happens when those civilizations abuse nature's resources or deny it the proper respect and reverence. The Primal Beast is also one of two primal spirits that represents the idea of changing and evolving to adapt to an everchanging world, along with the mechanical entity known as the Amalgamate. These two will often battle each other, with these engagements often representing how the natural and unnatural parts of the world collide with each other to better adapt and learn from one another. While it was believed that these fights were once solely meant to try and destroy their opponent, both entities have come to understand the importance of the other over the eons for the betterment of the plane they both fiercely protect and will now fight alongside each other to face threats to Salvera safety.
