Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

@payn this is what I was wanting till I saw the price
That Armorcast model is on my holy grail list. I had the opportunity to purchase it back in the 1990s, but I just wasn't in the market for that kind of thing at the time and passed on it. Armorcast also made Warhammer vehicles back in the day as well.

I did not know Wizkids had battlemech/mech warrior at one time. Quick google search and the ownership still seem convoluted with topps holding part and the videos games to another. Topps….another company I kept in business as a kid, teenager with all major sports trading cards.
Very convoluted. Back in 2000 WizKids kicked things off with Mage Knight which was a combination of miniature war gaming with the collectibility of Magic the Gathering. You'd purchase a pack containing X number of random figures, hope you got something good, and did battle with one another on a table top map. In 2002, they released Mechwarrior: Dark Age which was just another adaption of WizKid's Clix system (see HeroClix, HorrorClix, etc., etc.).

A lot of Battletech fans really hate Dark Age. As a miniature painter, I steered away from all the clix types games, so I can't say anything good or bad about them.

What paint range are you usijg if you don’t mind me asking. I’ve been using monument hobbies and tried the new army painter fanatic line, which is much better than their previous line.

I'm mostly using Vallejo paints, both ranges, Model and Game. The Model range has all those lovely earth, khaki, tan, and myriads of grey and green tones, and Game has nocely satured reds, yellows and blues.
And for metal, I use their dedicated "Metal Color" range.

I haven't tried Warpaint Fanatics yet, but I love the way they've organized the colours into groups of 6 and I wish more manufacturers would do that.
